Hi,

I am very, very new to Tasker and need some help or a pinpoint in a direction to the solution.

I need an automated time card and found this:

https://www.androidauthority.com/automated-time-card-android-customization-647693/

Which i rebuild in tasker and the StartWork, StopWork, And TotalTime scripts work fine.

I want a few thing and do not know how to achieve them

Q-1)
I have 2 sets of NFC stickers ( blue and black) which i can program.

I want the Startwork script  on a black sticker
and the Stopwork and calculating (= TotalTime script) on a red sticker.

So you can use you phone  to tigger the start time when you start work and stop time when to stop your work )

How do i do that ?

Q-2)

I want the outcome of Totaltime ( in hours)  put into my Google Calendar on the day i run the script
If i run it now i should see it on this day in the google  calendar like

Worked today:  2 Hours

Is that difficult to achieve  ?

If someone has a better way  to do this instead of this scripts  i would gladly would like to know

Thanx for all the help ! its very appreciated !!

One option is to have Tasker use the "Spreadsheet Tasker Plugin" to make entries in a google sheets spreadsheet.

I use this plugin to document my kid's tablet use (on/off state changes, charging state changes, app installations, app launches). Each event gets a date & time stamp.

On the first question, I use Trigger ...
for reading NFC tags. The nice thing about Trigger is it has built in support for running Tasker tasks. So rather than a profile being activated to run tasks, tapping the NFC tag will havee Trigger call the tasks for you (think of Trigger as a manually activated profile) which each tag specifying which tasks to use.

I was using NFC Tools Pro on older devices. My OnePlus 5T has a terrible NFC antenna location. I devised other profiles as a workaround.

To post your profile or task here...  Long press on the profile or task name / ( 3 dot menu with 4.0+ ) export / export "DESCRIPTION" to clipboard (not XML)

Any linked tasks will be exported with the profile they are linked to..

To be able to export, The beginner mode needs to be off and the profile needs to be named by you (Not the Tasker listed name.  Tasker will list your profile with the context name if you have not given it one).

Hi,

I cannot seem to get the whole project to export

Because i am VERY new to tasker i decided to keep everything the same as  in the example i used ( https://www.androidauthority.com/automated-time-card-android-customization-647693/ )

After that i would like to insert the values in Google spreadsheets  as you suggested

Server Port:  --> https://docs.google.com
Path  --> the rest of the URL string  ENDING on / formReponse  ( is this ok ?)

Date /File -->  entry,<number>=%DATE
etc etc
I used this -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWHPJaNZ9MY   as a dutch example

Do i need to do something in Google Spreadsheet?

Help appreciated!

Thanx!

I cannot seem to get the whole project to export

You can not export a project to clipboard. Select all relevant profiles and then menu>export>export description to clipboard

Just go into Google sheets and create a document, noting the spreadsheet name as well as the name of the sheet. You will need that in the plugin configuration task.

The new Google sheet is made either in the Google sheets app or at sheets.google.com. go ahead and make that before you do anything with Tasker. Give the workbook and one of the tabbed sheets a relevant name.

Once you have that done, make a task with a spreadsheet plugin action. The attached image is a screenshot of my battery log plugin config. If everything is set up, pressing that "test" button will populate the spreadsheet with the variable names (not the values). Running the task action will use the values.

You would probably want two of these tasks (clock in & clock out). You can use plain text or variables or a combination of the two in the cells. Each cell is separated by a semicolon(;) and you can skip a cell by using two of them (;;).
