Hello,

Giving that the Spring is here (at least in the northern hemisphere) I am planning to start using my bike and to start using a training application (like Runtastic, Runkeeper or any other). But I'm looking for one that can be controlled from within Tasker (for obvious reasons).

Does anybody know of any such application? What I've tried until now doesn't seem to show anything extra in the Plugins or 3rd Party areas of Tasker's Tasks. Nor did I found anything about intents for these apps.

Thank you!

If you find anything let me know I would also be interesting in this. Perhaps being able to read the data from the app into Tasker as well as being able to control the app.

I am doubting it is what you are looking for But you could look into Google tracks. I am not sure how much control you can get over the app But I believe it will now Post real time data to the Internet Which would then be accessible to tasker via http get.   I believe it has quite a few fitness features now.

I'm using MyTracks already, it's decent, but not quite like Runkeeper & co. I'll keep on using MyTracks until I find an alternative, if ever.
Still hoping...

I've just got an official reply from a Runtastic employee and they're not planning to implement such a feature any time soon. http://gsfn.us/t/3z0xa

Out of curiosity what are you wanting to do with Tasker Integration?

I am planning on adding a Sony Smartwatch, and foudn several articles on Pocketable.com about integrating it with Tasker, i was hoping to build my own workout widget.

I've now switched from the MapMyFitness apps to Endomondo as it's Smartwatch app seems to have everything i need, also MapMyFitness doesn't support heart rate monitors on android, and their website blames it on Google support for drivers but I'm not buying it.

There is a plugin that allows you to start and stop recording with MyTracks: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greenesse.mytracksplugin

I haven't used it myself, just knew that it exists.

Wes Stacey, I want to use Tasker to automate the startup/stop/pause of the training application: disable sync, start data, start GPS, get location, start recording (or at least this is what I'm doing with MyTracks now). But I want something a little bit more complex than MyTracks.

bdanders, there's also this application for free.

This is the answer that I got from someone from RunKeeper: http://goo.gl/6Fvml . A little bit more encouraging.

This what I want to do as well.
I use a NFC chip to start playing music (XiiaLive has an open API that you can controll with Tasker) and launch Endomondo, then stop the music and kill Endomondo on the second reading of the chip.
The start up process is kind of useless as I still have to click Start in Endomondo to get the logging started.
