I'm using a HTC One X with stock ROM.

I am using the block number feature built into the HTC dialer. When the CID matches the blocked number they get a special tone and the phone does not show any notification that the caller had rang.

I have setup a profile with triggers on incoming call events of any number. When these blocked calls come in they still trigger the event but there are no way to ignore these events.

A possible solution would be to allow an inverted rule for matching phone number.

Another method is to either check if the call is blocked (may be HTC specific) or allow matching and inverting of contact groups.

Phone:
  • HTC One X
  • Android 4.2.2
  • HTC Sense 5.0

Tasker

  • 4.2u3

I think you can use a "!" (exclamation point) to invert the match.  See pattern matching in the user guide.

Thanks I will give that a go.

I still think a user friendly option to invert it like some of the other options will make it more consistent.

An invert checkbox means something slightly different, and couldn't be used with events, only states. From the user guide:

"All states have an invert parameter, which specifies that the context should become active when it would usually be inactive, and vice-versa."

It wouldn't really make sense for an event, which is only active for an instant.

It sounds like you're using the Phone Ringing event as the context for your profile.  An incoming call normally triggers the phone app to load and display the caller's info and allow you to answer.  Maybe you can change the context(s) to get what you want.  By using the Call state (and specifying incoming calls) in combination with the Application state, you will be able to get the profile to activate only when there's an incoming call AND the phone app is in the foreground.
