Hey Gang,

So, some apps (like Tasker) not only allow accessing the main app via the app drawer, but also contain shortcuts you can set up on your homescreen (or in various apps) that allow you directly access a specific part of the app.  Is there a way to set this up in an app created using app factory?

It's fairly simple - There is no "profile" per se - just a scene that is opened when you open the "app".  This scene contains 6 buttons, each one which will trigger a specific task.  What I'm wondering is if there's anything I can do to make it so that if someone doesn't want to open up the "app" but just wants to put a shortcut on their home screen to trigger that one specific task they can.

Any advice/direction is appreciated!

Sorry, shortcuts and widgets aren't supported for kid apps, though
it's on
the silly-size todo list.

Thanks for the reply, Pent. Yeah, I have a feeling your to do list would gives Santa's Naughty-or-Nice list a run for its money!

This would probably be difficult to get working on various different phones (due to differences in the home app), but maybe check what app is in the foreground when your app is launched.  That is, test the value of %WIN as a first step in your app-launch task and if it matches the homescreen window label, you know it was launched from the homescreen instead of the app drawer, so you could show a different scene.  I haven't done anything with app factory but that seems like it should work.
