to Tasker
Just thought I would post this here so it might help someone else.
I was previously running Tasker 1.08b4 on my EVO (Android 2.2), and
saw that there was an update today to 1.08. I let it run the update,
and installed over top of the beta (after backing up my profiles). I
have a profile set up for Power (Any) that should prompt me with a
"choose task" - Car Mode or Desk Mode. The prompt is no longer coming
up, and when I open tasker it says that the profile is active (green
box around profile). Clicking on the task, I see the "kill" and "test"
buttons, so it is obviously running. It never brings up the prompt,
and clicking kill pauses everything for a few seconds, then prompts
for a Force Close. I've tried rebooting the device a number of times,
yet the issue remains.
SOLUTION:
I backed up the app (using Astro), uninstalled, then reinstalled
(using Astro), then restored my profiles (through Tasker preferences)
and it is now working as expected.
BTW, much kudos to the developer. I'm a developer by trade, but don't
know Java. Using this app, I've been able to come up with some great
apps for my EVO without so much glancing in the direction of the
Android SDK. Unforunately, my interest is picqued, and now I fear I'm
actually going to have to learn to do some Android programming to
quiet the voices in my head screaming for more!
