Displaying Text in Status/Notification Bar

I'd like to be able to display text in the status bar. Specifically the date, but I'm sure others would want to display other things.

I know there are apps that can display the date in the status bar, but is this something that is likely to be added to Tasker in the future?

I could use a scene to display the date, but that wouldn't be IN the status bar, it would above it.

Unlikely. Like your other request, it's not supported by Android so is
liable
to not work in future versions or on some devices. It would also
require
a lot of time to find out how to do it. I have enought requests for
things
that are possible with standard Android, so I'd rather concentrate on
those.

Thanks for replying.

It's worth an app with a single function (interrogating notifications or displaying text in the status bar) finding a clever way of doing it and having to implement it on many different devices. Obviously with a powerful app like Tasker you're going to concentrate on what's supported by Android.

Just incase other Google and find this like I did don't be discouraged if you can't do something now that you want to with Tasker.

Just poke around looking for it from time to time someone may come up with a way to do whatever it is you want to do.
