Hi,
I have created new mail notification widget using tasker and zooper pro following this tutorial.
The problem is,
1. tasker in notification says: No Active profile.
2. No new mail update, until I run the "play" button in the new mail task. As soon as I play that button, the widget is updated.

I am not sure, but seems these two problem is connected.

I am using nexus 5 with stock ROM, unrooted device. both tasker and zooper pro is downloaded from the playstore recently
Kindly help.

This profile uses an event context and therefore it won't show as active in the tasker notification. The notification only shows profiles when the state of the profile context is true. Since events are effectively instantaneous they never show true.

Make sure the android settings > Accessibility > Tasker is set ON.

If you still have a problem, post your profile or task here...  Long press on the profile or task name / ( 3 dot menu with 4.0+ ) export / export description to clipboard (not XML). Paste the clipboard contents into a post.

You posted the Task description not the Profile description. The problem is with the profile notification context.
What email app are you using?

BTW, does it matter which app I am using?

Yes, on some apps Tasker can not detect the notifications.

I have no experience with Blue Mail but a quick review of the app I see that it has the option to disable notifications. Are notifications enabled in the app?

Bob,
never mind, but have you ever tried cloudmagic mail with tasker?

Yes, as a matter of fact, just a few weeks ago. As I recall, I had problems with notifications using it so I went back to the Gmail app.
