to Tasker
Hi
I purchased tasker to accomplish something but I can't figure out how to do it.

I have a Samsung galaxy s7 and also have an Asus Zenpad S8 tablet that is wifi only.

I have been trying to setup a profile that will...

When the tablet drops off a known and connected wifi service, connect to the phone via Bluetooth.

Is there a way to turn on Bluetooth tethering in tasker?

On the phone I have a profile that turns Bluetooth off during my sleeping hours while the phone is charging so that i don't get notifications coming through on my watch while I'm trying to sleep. I'm using an app called BT auto connect and BT auto tether to make up for what looks like functionality not available in tasker but they don't seem to do the job correctly (tethering is not activated automatically after Bluetooth is turned on)

Anyone doing something similar?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Phil

There is an option to turn on BT tether in the app Secure Settings. It is also a plugin for Tasker, so you can do the switching using Tasker profiles.

Thanks Eric,

Since posting this, I found BT auto Tether and BT auto connect in the Play store. Each works with tasker as a plugin. I was able to set these up and it appears to be working.

I still seem to have one problem though...
When I enter an area where I have an active and remembered WiFi service (like my home), my tablet does not reconnect to the network but rather, prefers to stay tethered via bluetooth.

I could create a profile to drop bluetooth when I see a specific SID but my preference is not to have to code all the SIDs I connect to into a profile. Further investigation is needed.

Cheers

Phil
