With the workaround to get access to read access system files, we just
need the ability to write or delete them.

I have found 2 apps in the market which only has the function of
deleting or editing the content of a file that could easily be
emulated with Tasker

This would increase sdcard cache size to increase read speeds to the
card, replacing the app "SD Speed Increase"
Profile: Boot
Context Boot
Task: SDCardCache
+ Write File ../../sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb
Text: 2048

Removing this file allows for recalibrating the battery stats
+Delete File: ../../data/system/batterystats.bin

Hi Radimus, I assume you know that you can do this with the locale
execute plugin..?

Perhaps you are just asking for root read/write permissions in Tasker
as standard in future builds?

Yes, If there was a checkbox in the write file/delete file that was
"use root" as there is for end program, it should be fine

i managed to get this deletion task by using locale execute plugin. i typed in !rm file data/system/batterystats.bin, but that still doesnt solve the problem. it resets the time after boot but the usage details still stay there, maybe its something integrated in miui, i dont know.

But is that relevant since it cant find the file? when it try to find the directory it doesnt list anything under /data. Is it becuase it doesnt have r/w acces to the system partition?

are you positive that the file is there ? can you see it using root explorer or another root file mgr ?
MIUI is very specific, lotsa files stored in unconventional locations..

Yes it is there, and the deletion is successful.
