I use & highly recommend MileageTrac (
https://market.android.com/
details?id=com.ikonicsoft.paid.mileagegenie) with the "AutoStart"
option enabled.
I built Tasker profiles to put my phone in "enter car mode" when it
connects to my car bluetooth. One of the steps in the resulting task
is to load App MileageTrac. Of course, one of steps in the bluetooth
disconnect "leave car mode" task is to kill app MileageTrac.
The load app task works perfectly. Unfortunately, for Android 2.2
(FroYo) and later, the "kill app" only kills the background service
(which actually does the tracking) as opposed to totally killing the
app. So, I have to manually exit the app when I leave the car, but
it has stopped tracking me & the GPS is turned back off.
I'm wondering if I could use Manual Intents or something similar to
have more granular control over stopping/starting/exiting?
