App (63)
A1: Browse Files [ Dir:/storage/sdcard1/Recordings Match:
Include Hidden Files:Off
I do not know if this will help but I used this to access my external SD card to get around a bug Tasker use to have.
../sdcard-ext/
Depending on what you are trying to do you could make your own file browser with tasker, using a menu..

Enter your path as '../sdcard1/Recordings' , and then File Magic should open with '/storage/sdcard0/../sdcard1/Recordings'. That's my best suggestion.

> Thanks @Rich. Good idea, though I cannot seem to get the file browser functionality to work. Below is my code.
Ahhh, that is where the " depending on what you want to do" comes in. I made a file browser for my pictures and at the time could not figure out how to get a recursive list ( all sub directories ) I have seen this ability posted recently .. however it did not matter for what I wanted to accomplish. I think you will find that 'file magic" is a bare bones browser ( no offence intended Pent, hopefully he misses this one ) and i wanted a browser that had a good search function. I actually do not know of any browser that works as fast to find file as the one i built with tasker ( Thanks to Pent.... ;) ) if you look for your music files often and need a good search function I do not think it would take much to convert what I did to a simple file browser ( mine is in a much bigger camera folders app)
The way it works is all the files are in one directory ( no need for antiquated file hierarchy ) and you simply start typing in what you are looking for and it will match your search with every letter you type ( kind of like a auto complete ) until the list gets short enough to select the proper file.. the first 2 letters will simply match the first 2 positions but after 3 letters it will search for that string in the entire file name. It takes advantage of the ability to make very long file names. So when making the file name you can put in alot of info you might be searching for.
