Pent/All,

I am looking for a way to clear all notifications. I can work my way around tasker and I have researched this quite a bit, but found numerous times to just open the app wait a seec and close it... I'm not a fan, though it does its job.. My question is, what is happening when you hit the little icon that clears all notifications? Can a developer maybe explain this to me? I appologize if this is way off ball park, (correct me please) but code is being ran, what code? Packages? an intent? an activity? I'm aware Tasker has the ability to "send?" these "Requests?". So, couldn't this notifcation clear button just be "emulated"??? Please let me know, anthing is appreciated.

Tasker is awesome...

I may not be exactly right on this, but you can think of it as public vs. private "requests".  Some "requests" can only be made by some apps, sometimes only one app! The receiver of the "request" can check who sent it and allow/disallow based on that.

So is the launcher or the "notification system (app)" the only thing privately associated with clearing notifications?

As far as I know, yes.  Unless you have I think Android 4.3+ which has a permission system for one app dismissing/reading the notifications of another app.  Then I think you can use AutoNotification plugin to get these features.

For anyone looking for answer like I was I found 1 way to do this is if you have root.

You can run shell command "service call notification 1" as root  and it will clear all notifications.

 Hello,
You should be able to clear all with notify cancel
Does not require root

The action notify cancel works only for tasker generated notifications, not for notifications from other apps. If you need to cancel notifications fron notification bar, you can use the Tasker plugin "Notification Listener" that you can download for free here
