Hi

I have a single WEMO switch which I control via the WEMO app.

I would like to create a Tasker profile where when the battery is CHARGING AND has reached 95%, run the app and issue a turn OFF command.
When the battery is DISCHARGING and has reached 50%, run the app and issue a turn ON command.

Can someone help me?

Thanks

I haven't seen a straight forward way for Tasker to control smart home devices or generate google assistant commands. I would have thought there was enough interest from Tasker users that at least one manufacturer would issue a plugin or similar interface, they would sell more kit. I hope I'm wrong and there is a simple way to do this - using AutoInput and having screen unlocked and on gets messy, or working how to send HTML messages to servers to pretend Tasker is one of the supplier apps ....

I use HomeAssistant to control my Wemo's. However before that, I used curl commands from bash and pretty much used a script like the one on this page:

So you could probably call the url in a similar fashion to the curl commands in that script.

Another option would be to use Join and IFTTT with Tasker and WeMo.   https://joaoapps.com/join/ifttt/

I haven't tried this combination directly but I have used Tasker/Join with IFTTT and IFTTT with WeMo so I would think it should work.

Ok. Here is how I did it:

From Play store, "WEMO" and "WEMO CHARGE".
(If you do not mind the constant switching on-off when the device reaches set charge percentage and then falls 1% below, that is all you need.
I found that annoying,so:
Get "Task Kill" plugin for TASKER
PROFILE 1:
For device charging and battery percent say 90 --> Action Wait 5 seconds then kill "Wemo Charge" using "Task Kill" plugin.
PROFILE 2:
For device NOT charging and battery percentage say 60 --> Launch "Wemo Charge"

This way is all kept locally without the need to send messages to IFTTT.

I wasn't aware of the "WeMo Charge" app.  So when you kill the WeMo Charge App, does it then turn your linked switch off?

No, the "Wemo Charge" turns the switch off at the same percentage you set PROFILE 1 (90 in the example). You kill it because it would turn the switch back on at 89.

OK, that makes sense.  The five second wait gives WeMo Charge time to turn off the switch, but not so much that the phone discharges and turns back on.  Nice and simple.
