Hello team!
I have been a Tasker user since last year and as a fellow PT developer, I'm impressed with what was possible to achieve so far!

Problem
- Whenever reading an NFC tag, I get an "NFC tag detected" notification, in which I have to press "Open"

Analysis
- I've tried the NFC Tools app, and I was able to launch an app without this notification, so I guess it must be something Tasker related (?)

Question
- How do I get rid of this "NFC tag detected" notification? I understand AutoNotification may work here, but the fact that I saw it work in NFC tools, makes me believe it's possible some other way.

Nope, MUI doesn't have Tags app (not even an NFC-related app), or at least it doesn't expose it.
The settings are also a bit different. Regretting getting a Xiaomi

I made it work with the AutoNotification workaround as suggested here https://www.reddit.com/r/tasker/comments/134mwww/nfc_tag_detected_pop_up/
But I'd rather not do that

Hhmm, unfortunately I don't have a recent MIUI device so I don't know what could be done... 😅
Can you show me a screenshot of the popup that shows up?

I don't know why it would create a notification like that, sorry :/ That's not standard  Android at all. My best advice would actually be to use AutoNotification like you mentioned. Sorry, I wish I could help more.

Just out of curiosity, Tasker has the Draw Over Apps permission enabled, right?

Yes!

Tasker and all AutoApps have "Display over other apps", as well as Autostart and no battery restrictions

I appreciate the help anyway!

Sorry, wish I knew why it's doing that! 😅

Update

I bought a few sticker NFC tags, and it seems that reading one of those triggered the Tags app to be installed (or maybe it was there and I didn't see it - unlikely).

Now, even more annoying, I have this popup that shows after the previous one.

Unfortunately, there's no manual way (not even with adb) to either disable or uninstall Tags.
Yet another issue to solve with AutoInput

I seem to recall I got rid of that notification by formatting the NFC Tag with the "NFC for Tasker" app (Google Play Store). I then have a Tasker event profile that fires when the tag's serial number is read. No extra notification, and its been running great for several years.

Oh, good point! Unfortunately, Tasker says this NFC tag can't be formatted, but I'll keep it in mind for the next ones I get!
(I also tried with NFC for Tasker, but didn't change a thing)

Thanks!
