Hi,
I am trying to create a profile that will detect an outgoing call and
will
not allow it to go through, basically hang it up immediately.
Can you please tell me if this is possible with tasker?
How do I detect an outgoing call (but not an incoming one - "phone off
hook" is no good for that)?
How do I disconnect a call?

Thank you

Have patience in exploring Tasker's features

Look at action Phone->Call Block/revert

As V Oz said, call block/revert is the way to do what you're looking for, but for future reference, to detect an outgoing call, use Incoming Call (Inverted) AND Phone Offhook together.

Thanks.
But aren't these action only relevant for incoming calls?
Do you know how I can detect an outgoing call?

Thanks guys!

What did the trick was:
Event --> Phone ringing (phone offhook did not work)
State --> Incoming Call (invert)

Action --> Block call

Thanks again for your help.

I'm not sure how/why that worked.  According to the docs the Phone Ringing event is only triggered for incoming calls.

Call Block is a setting,  Since you're using an Event context, the setting won't revert afterwards.  So you may want to check to make sure you don't continue to block calls when you don't want to.

No need to detect outgoing call events at all.
Just run Call Block action once and all next following Out Calls will be blocked (with filter if any).
When You decide to remove block, run action Call Revert. that's all.
Read manual on these actions carefully.

Guys, you are right.
I did not understand the true meaning of "call block".
I used it once, and it blocked all my calls, that is why it "worked".
Eventually, the profile that truely worked was:

contexts:
event -> phone -> phone offhook
state -> incoming call (invert)

action:
end call

Thanks a lot for your help.

that looks like it would work to me...phone off hook doesn't work?
 my question would be how do you install a whitelist in there... nobody wants to butt dial someone.... but if youre out late with a friend and need to catch up with them.... how do you get tasker to allow that?

ORRR maybe have tasker look at the light sensor and say hey i'm in a (dark) pocket! NO call for you!

any help out there?
