Since a few weeks the "Connect To WiFi" stopped working with the following error message:

22.00.19/E Error: 1
22.00.19/E Couldn't find matching configured network "SSID". Make sure your phone is already configured to connect to it.

Tasker couldn't find any configured networks. Does Tasker have the 'Nearby Devices' and the 'Location' permissions enabled and allowed at all times?

The mentioned permissions are still granted and the phone is configured to connect to this SSID.

What am I overlooking?

Could someone please check the "Connect To WiFi" action on their device? Should take around one minute. Just disconnect from a known SSID and try to reconnect with the "Connect To WiFi" action.

Disconnecting from a SSID is also not possible by the action "WiFi Net - Disconnect" 🤔

A few weeks ago both was working like a charm.

I just tried it on my Samsung S22Ultra. Worked correctly.

I did notice an oddity with Disconnect, in that it did disconnect, but a few seconds later reconnected. When I turned of "Autoconnect" for that SSID, it did not automatically reconnect.

Also note that Tasker needs to have "Location Permissions" set, as you said. It also requires that the device's "Location Services" be enabled.

Dear aa6vh,

thank you for taking the time to try it out 👍🏼

Still not working on my Sony Xperia 5 V despite all permissions granted.

I think it's normal system behavior that your device reconnects to the SSID as long as "auto reconnect" is activated.

Still not working!

Any ideas?

I need that function to connect to my rear drive camera via WiFi, so in a way it has a relation to safety for me.

Thanks for any help 👍🏽

This still works on my new S25 Ultra. But the phone Location Services must be enabled if you want to use the SSID.

Here is the solution from João and he was so kind to allow me to post it here:

Due to Google's Android restrictions, some features like Connect to WiFi can’t be handled directly by Tasker. This limitation is beyond my control, but you can bypass it by installing the Tasker Settings app, available here: https://github.com/joaomgcd/TaskerSettings/releases.

Make sure to download the version that supports the functionality you need. Newer versions may request more permissions, so choose the one that best fits your needs.

Also, exempt Tasker Settings from battery optimization, or it might not work. Instructions can be found here: https://tasker.joaoapps.com/userguide/en/faqs/faq-problem.html#00.

Important Note: On Android 14+, Tasker Settings must be installed via ADB using this command:

adb install --bypass-low-target-sdk-block FILENAME.apk

Unfortunately, there's no way around this restriction.

Thanks again João for your great and reliable support!
