I have a very simple task to deny network access to a specific app. The task is just a Network Access action and a Flash action, which I added to be sure the task is actually running. I then placed a shortcut on my phone's home screen so that I can run the task.
  • When I tap the shortcut, the task runs--I get the flash message--but the network access denial fails
  • If I go into Tasker and long press the task, then tap the run button, I get the same result.
  • But if I open the task to edit it and tap the run button at the bottom, the task runs correctly and blocks the app's network access.
I have Tasker Settings 1.7.1 installed and unrestricted. This is on an S24, Android 15 (I had the same issue on Android 14), Tasker version 6.4.15.

Thoughts?

How does it fail? Does it produce any error message?

Have you tried setting the "Continue on error" checkbox on the Network Access action, and flash any error message that might have occurred?

It does not produce an error message. What happens is simply...nothing. It does not block network access to the app and the "key" icon does not appear in the notification bar.

The network access block does not have a "Continue on error" checkbox.
