Hi, since Tasker can have admin permissions on the phone, is there any way to change the system lock password? I would like to have it changed every day automatically.

Hi. There's currently no way to do that, sorry!

Thank you for your contact.

Join: connect multiple devices (send pushes, remote SMS, notifications) on Android, Windows, Mac, Linux
Tasker: customize/automate anything on your phone!
AutoApps: add advanced functionality to Tasker via plugins

Not sure if works on all devices. Mine are Samsung S20 (A10) and S22 A(12). But if you have ADB Wifi enabled, you can.

I use PIN but I think it is not so secure because people can easily see you typing your PIN. Therefore, when I am not at home, I have a task that changes the PIN hourly. I haven't tried PASSWORD but I guess it should work.

Seems like these are the commands 😅 Was not aware of those!

I think I'll add them to the in-app helper in the ADB Wifi action!

There is a helper app built into Android (at least up to 12) called locksettings.  It's located in /system/bin/

On my rooted device "locksettings set-pin xxxx" where xxxx is the new pin, sets a new pin.  "locksettings clear --old xxxx" where xxx is the current pin, removes the pin and effectively makes it so there is no lock.

Exchange "set-pin" with "set-password" or "set-pattern" depending on your lock method.

For pattern lock you need to translate the pattern to numbers.  Top-left is number 1, top right is 3, middle left is 4, middle right is 6, bottom left is 7 and last dot is number 9

Hi Joao, glad you found them. Would be helpful to others if you add them to the helper.
