I cannot get my Android phone to do anything related to grouping things into projects.
Obviously I'm missing something. Please help me figure out what it is.
I have beginner mode turned off.
I have 4 tabs: Profiles, Tasks, Scenes, Variables
Three of the four tabs are populated with multiple items (I have no scenes yet).
I see no tab for project.
In the help file, it states:
Projects
Tasker allows organisation of profiles, tasks, scenes and variables into groups called Projects, each with a separate Project Tab.
The projects tabs are accessed by dragging entity tabs down via the faded arrow just underneath them. Drag the other way to hide them.
Click-and-drag a profile, task or scene to a project tab to move it to that project
Click on a project tab to switch to viewing only things in that project
Long-click on a project tab for options, including adding a new tab
The first tab has a slightly special status, it cannot be removed and anything which is not a member of another project is placed there.
I can see the light arrow just below the top menu bar, centered between “tasks” and scenes”. If I scroll down on it, I can get it to light up, but that’s it. I can’t get it to pull down any further (perhaps that’s because I have no projects yet, but how to create a project.... I see no other instructions for it).
I can try to drag my items all over the screen, but there is really nothing resembling a project tab visible to drag them onto.
A possibly related item. I cannot see the “upwards-pointing faded arrow” that is supposed to be at bottom of the variables tab. Maybe it is the same reason?
Obviously I missing something. Probably something basic. But after a day of trying everything and searching everywhere, it’s time to ask for help.
** By the way I’m not a total idiot, I have made and tested some nice profiles.. just starting to get cluttered with a lot of stuff and would like to organize them but simply cannot crack the code of projects (that everyone else seemingly has no problems with). ALSO I want to also make it clear that although I am stumped on this point, I am not complaining. Tasker is a great tool whose potential everyone can see. The current documentation is not presented on a silver platter, but with a lot of trial/error and an occasional request for help from knowledgeable folks here, I think it will be very manageable.
Thanks in advance for any bone you can throw to this Newbie.
