Hey there. I'm not sure but my issue may be related to the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE with Android 11 that has come up in the last year or two, but it's within a kid app. The issue I've run into is that I have a TTS task using ElevenLabs, which requires an HTTP Request action and saves a file to storage. It consistently fails in the kids app (on Moto G Power 2021 Android 11) saying that I need to grant "Access storage." The only storage-related permission I can find in the Ask permissions action in Tasker is android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, but when I try to request that permission in the kid app, all it does is take me to the kids app's permissions page and nothing happens. And storage is not listed in its requested permissions. I just double-checked and MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE is one of the required permissions when exporting the kid app.
After a bunch of googling, my limited understanding of the matter is that it may be related to newer permissions for Android 11 regarding an "All files access" permission. But here's the thing, I found that permission in my phone settings and manually granted it to the kid app. But it still fails on the task saying that I need to grant Access storage. And the android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE still does nothing in the kid app. So it almost seems like it requires a permission that I'm unable to grant? Is it a bug? Can anything be done? Thanks for any help!
