Just to rule out the Launcher can you try the same task in another Launcher. I would try it in mine but I can't get this to work it doesn't even work inside Tasker :/

Hi everyone!

I recently discovered Tasker and just created one of my first tasks!

This is a task which can open the YouTube app on a specific page (here: the "The Verge" channel page).

Tasker -> create task -> send intent

Action: android.action.intent.VIEW
Target: Activity
(rest is blank/default)

This task works when I press the play button in Tasker (aka: the YouTube app opens and displays the Channel page).

But when I add a shortcut to the task on my homescreen (using Nova Launcher) and tap on it, nothing happens.

Anybody knows a solution for this?

Got it working it should be android.intent.action.VIEW not android.action.intent.VIEW.

anyways it works in LLX and Nova for me

You need to apply changes and save the task by exiting from the Tasker UI by using the Back button. The Home button does not exit Tasker, only moves it to the background. The "play" button is actually the "test" button. It's not live until you exit Tasker.

Thanks so much for spelling this out. I was having the same issue assigning a tasker task to nova. It wasn't clear to me that tasker would require the back button to save. Nonetheless, knowing that it does fixed my problem  (which was similar to May M's) and probably avoided me several other frustrating experiences as well. Thanks again.
