Hi,

created one task, which start an app, wait 15 second (to do some
downloads), then killing this app.
Works fine, if I start "test-button" in task-edit-screen
But does NOT work, if task is started automaticly (by specific time).
App is started, but it isnt killed :-(
I tried it with and without root, same result, app still running.

any hints, tips, help is welcome.

Since this became an issue in later versions of Android, what I've found is that I have success with killing apps if the app I'm killing is NOT in the foreground.  So, if I want to kill an app, I use the Go Home or Load App action first.

Hi,

thanks for this easy workaround. Works perfect for me. I put "go home" before killing.
That's the reason too, why task has worked in test mode, because tasker was on top.

bye

Sorry for waking this old thread up, but killing apps that show permanent notifications doesn't seem to work even with root and the tip mentioned above. The notification disappears and the app is killed but after a few seconds the app is app and running again, without me reopening it. The app is MyPhoneExplorer in this case. Any ideas? :)
