LauncherPro has a nice option to hide the entire notification bar. (see preferences / appearances / hide notification bar)

Can something like this be done with tasker??  I'd like to have a tasker widget that toggles the notification bar display on and off.

Thanks, Andy

It's on a per-app basis, each app requests that the OS hide the bar if
it wants. By default
it is shown.

In other words, Tasker can't hide it while other apps are running.

Should it be possible for LauncherPro to expose its 'Hide Notify Bar' option to Tasker, to use as an action inside of a Tasker script?

If so - then I will ask the LauncherPro guy if he would make this change.

It only works for Launcher Pro itself, right ? Launched apps have the
status bar showing?

Yes, sadly, you are right - launched apps still show the status bar.

Still - I would find it useful, even if the option were only available from within LauncherPro.

Unfortunately I think there's too much work involved finding out how
to do it
and implementing it than is worth it for a non-standard app.

If it were active for other apps too I would definitely have put it
onthe todo list.
