Now we can not create apps for Android KitKat and earlier? In 4.9 the minimum level was 14.
This would be a big deal for me, I developed some apps to give new life to old unused devices, there are users who use this apps with devices like e.g. Samsung S2 or S3 ...

Tasker version 5 is only for Android 5.0 and up so are all apps created with it.

Thank you Alexander.
I've downloaded from Play Store the latest version of Tasker (4.7u3) and App Factory (1.6u2) in a device with Android 4.2, I've migrated my projects and I'm trying to generate an app, but  App Factory returns "bad Tasker package version 5033, need 1608."

Are the latest versions of of Tasker and App Factory for Android 4 not compatible?

I see Play Store has deactivated the 4.7u3 factory version for some reason. I will look at it when I get the chance, but
in the meantime you can find the corresponding factory version to your Tasker version here:

I'm in trouble ...
I've imported a backup made in Tasker 5.0 on the device with Tasker 4.7 but the data for all actions (a few hundered...)  related to plugins are currupted.
Here a sample related to Autoremote, but is the same for all used plugins.

I'm thinking about how to fix the situation, since I must create apk for Android 4.x.
If I roll back to 4.9 in my main device where I have 5.0, is there a possibility to corrupt or lose data either? This is my terror ...
I am a Play Store user, to install apk 4.9, should I first uninstall Tasker? I simulated the installation but behaved as if the Tasker apk was a different application and not an update of the existing one.

I apologize if they are somewhat confusing questions, but I am terrified at the idea of losing one year of work ...

Unfortunately, the most recent one is a month ago. I had thought about this, but I would lose some work.

Unfortunately, the most recent one is a month ago. I had thought about this, but I would lose some work.

Then I would first try upgrading the 4.7 device to 4.9u4, then import the backup into that.
There were an awful lot of changes between 4.7 and 5.0...

Delete anything new in 5.0 that you may have added first (e.g. Quick Settings related things).

How do I upgrade from 4.7 to 4.9u4? The device has Android 4.4.2 and Play Store download 4.7u3 ... 4.9u4 is compatible with Android 4.4.2?

Do you mean to import the 4.x backup of a month ago or the new one made yesterday in 5.0?

After installing 5.0 I did not do anything new.

Thanks

Shouldn't be.

There's a good chance a 5.0 backup will be loaded by 4.9u4 if you havn't added anything
that requires 5.0.

Pent, done.

I have successfully imported the backup from  Android 6.0/Tasker 5.0 in the device with Android 4.4.2/Tasker 4.9u3, the data is not corrupted as it happened in step 5.0 -> 4.7u3.
App Factory 4.9u3 works well and now I can again generate app for Android 4.x.

Many thanks!

Hi, Pent,
some problems ...

1. If I close Tasker today and re-open it tomorrow, it loses links to all images coming from local media. It has already happened twice and I always have to resume all the projects and scenes.

2. I'm asked for an order code to validate the installation, but I'm a Play Store user.  I still have two trial days...

I remind you that I installed 4.9u4 from http://tasker.dinglisch.net/releases/playstore/ following your suggestion. I can not install directly from the Play Store because it would install the 4.7u3 that is not compatible with the backups coming from 5.0.

Tanks

Pent's on vacation for the next two weeks. Read the sticky thread at the top of the page.

Now I've seen, thank you.
I will also take a vacation without Tasker ... :-)
(Or uninstall and reinstall Tasker to resume the trial period)

An integration.
I think this happens if I restart the device.

Solved (I tink...).

I've read in a sticky: "If you wish to revert to the previous version of Tasker, you will find it here: http://tasker.dinglisch.net/releases/playstore/Tasker.4.9u4m.apk".
I uninstalled 4.9u4 and installed 4.9u4m and now I'm not asked to validate the installation.
Maybe "m" in the version code refers to "market" (Play Store) users.
Anyway, I had to resume all the links to images from "local media" again.
