I already have a keystore/certificate that I use for signing apps going to Play Store from Eclipse. Is there some way I can use that to sign an app coming from App Factory? I have a rooted device so I should be able to put it anywhere it is needed to be placed to make this work.

Thanks for any tips/help?

Hello and thanks for your response. I am aware of what you say. But in my original question I ask :I already have a keystore/certificate that I use for signing apps going to Play Store from Eclipse. Is there some way I can use that to sign an app coming from App Factory?"

I have tried to use the java keytool to look at the default certificate that Tasker uses (keystore.auto) but it seems unable to do anything with it saying it is not compatible. So is Tasker looking for a typical keystore or what? And does anyone know where it is looking for such a thing to use in signing?

Thanks

Hi again and thanks so much for your help. I copied my existing Eclipse keystore to /sdcard/Tasker/factory and renamed it to be keystore.user. I also renamed the keystore.auto file found there to something else but I think that is only a backup of the default keystore and that the file Tasker actually uses is under /data/data/... somewhere. Having done this I expect the export as app process to prompt me for passwords, etc during the signing process. But that isn't happening for me. Perhaps I am still doing something wrong. Your tips are appreciated.

If you have another keys, So Paste it these files on Tasker =>factory folder "keystore.auto" and "keystore.user"!

No need too, edit....

Because Other platforms(like google playstore etc), provide same type files!

Thanks to Sheraz Ali for the responses/help. I have no idea why those messages show now as "Deleted". Never seen that before on Google Groups. Anyway, I just went ahead and created a Tasker-specific signing keystore. It turns out that it is placed along with other files for Tasker under /data/data (which you must have root to work with). And a backup is put into /sdcard/Tasker/factory.
