Hi Pent

I'm struggling with clearing a notification that wasnt created by tasker.

My Tasker launched notifications can be cleared with the "Notify Cancel" action and works fine.
When I try and use "Notify Cancel" to clear notifications from other apps, it doesnt work. (With "warn if no exist" ticked, I get the warning)

My question is should this work? I've never tried clearing a 3rd party app notification before but thought it was possible.

The notification I'm trying to automatically clear is from the app "Dropsync" and its notification title is also "Dropsync"
I tested it with the title of a calendar notification also but same issue.

Tested on 2x JB AOKP 4.2.2 devices.

No, apps can't clear notifications of other apps, probably as a security issue.

I haven't come across anything elegant. If the app dismisses the notification when it's opened, you could do load app followed immediately by the back button. Or, with a dumpsys notification you could figure out how far down the list the notification is that you want to dismiss and do a display status bar action followed by stimulating a screen tap/swipe at the right location.

Thanks Matt, I'll look into both ideas.
