When will Tasker monitor the Proximity Sensor?

I need it to turn the display off when the phone is in my pocket.

LOL....it has been able to do monitor the Proximity Sensor for over a year now buddy......check the Tasker documentation

For that, you have to tell Tasker to monitor the proximity sensor even when the phone is asleep. Go to Preferences/Monitor/Proximity Sensor option and set it to yes. Otherwise, I believe it only monitors when the phone is on.
