Using Tasker to Open YouTube Links in Brave Browser

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to set up an automation using Tasker where any YouTube link that I click on while browsing in Chrome would open in the Brave browser instead of the YouTube app or within Chrome itself. I've been looking into Tasker but I'm finding it difficult to figure out how to set this up.

I understand that I need to create a profile that triggers when a YouTube link is clicked, and then a task that opens that link in the Brave browser. However, I'm unsure of the exact steps I need to take to achieve this. I've also read that Tasker might not support intercepting URL clicks natively, and that additional plugins might be needed.

Could anyone provide a step-by-step guide on how to achieve this, or point me in the direction of resources that could help? I'm using Tasker version 6.1.32, in case that's relevant.

Unfortunately as far as I know that is currently not possible, sorry! The best you can do is to long-click the link > share and then use AutoShare to receive the share and then process it in Tasker. Hope this helps!
