Hi,

Was wondering that as of now is it possible to capture wired headset
button push and execute a particular task.

Was unable to find any relevant event after searching.

Regards...

I also need this, plus support for long-press, double-click and triple-
click.
PowerAMP for Android already supports double-click (next song) and
triple-click (previous song) with Bluetooth(!) even, so this shouldn't
be an impossible task.
I would love to see a unified support for long-press, double and
triple click for headsets.

It's the state called Media Button.

Has anyone got that to work with Bluetooth...or at all?

For me it still only works once after installing a new version - until I the music player or BeyondPod grabbed the input. And I cannot make Tasker regain it.

I would love for Tasker to develop its own Bluetooth Handler proxy
helper that can capture and redirect bluetooth commands to apps
depending on tasks and contexts.
If possible if course.

I've been trying to use this on a Desire Z running Sense based on 2.2/
FRF91 and the latest Tasker (downloaded yesterday from the website,
1.0.13 for 1.6+).
They, annoyingly for me, switched double click on the media button to
be redial last number rather than skip to next track and my etymotic
headset only has one button.

Trying long press on Media Button play doesn't work unless I tick
Grab.
The help for Media Button says that if you Grab a Media Button event
then you become the sole receiver... ok, so I add profiles for short
press too.
Once I added the profiles for short press the long press stops working
reliably and the long press profile sometimes stays green when I'm not
pressing the button. Events are getting very confused. it works the
first time or skips to the next track and pauses or just does nothing.

The double click for redial last number (which I would love to get rid
of entirely to stop me accidentally calling people) keeps working even
when I'm Grabbing Media Button events.

Have HTC done something odd here? Does it work ok otherwise?

Thanks,
P.

For me it's still the same with 1.0.14 as state above. :-(

I have a stock Nexus One.
