to Tasker
Hello,

I am working with a Sony xperia z3c phone. The default behaviour of the phone is to launch the stock Sony camera app whenever the hardware camera button is pressed, regardless of whether the phone is locked or not. I was able to "rewire" the hardware camera button with Tasker so it now launches an alternative camera app instead of the stock Sony one, but this only works when the phone is unlocked:

1. Create a Task which launches a different camera app
2. Create a Profile which triggers this Task when the Camera Button is pressed
3. Disable/freeze the stock Sony camera app

Now, assuming the phone is unlocked, pressing the hardware camera button does indeed launch the intended app. However, if the phone is locked, the hardware camera button does nothing (it does nothing if the stock Sony camera app is disabled, regardless of whether Tasker is running/set up).

So, is there a way to have this Tasker setup work regardless of whether the phone is locked or not?

I tried to make a profile which makes it so any time the Sony camera app was launched, Tasker would kill the stock camera app and run an alternative camera app instead. It "works" in that when the Sony app is launched, it appears briefly and then a moment later the alternate app runs, but the Sony camera app isn't killed, its just in the background. And frequently the camera app gives an error that it cannot connect to the camera hardware, so this isn't really a working solution.

Any ideas/alternatives welcome! Thank you,

Patrick
