Thanks. And when you get that popup and click on ok you don't see a window to grant the access?

No, nothing happens and i don't know which permission i can set manually. When tasker needs other permissions i get the same window asking for the permission. When i click ok tasker opens the correct window to grant the permission.

I got an email (included below) that detailed where the setting is buried.
Hope it helps.

Thanks, that tip led me to solve the issue, albeit indirectly.  While this procedure correctly directly opens up the permission switch for Tasker on my phone, on the tablet it just opens the Settings App, no doubt due to Samsung’s horrible Touchwiz overlay, which I will have to replace shortly.  On the tablet, you need to open settings, go to apps, press the menu button and select “Modify System Settings” to actually get to the location where you can grant this access to Tasker.  Touchwiz prevents Tasker from taking you there directly, likely because Samsung moved a bunch of settings to different places.

Can you please export your profile's description (not xml) so I can take a look? Long-click the profile in Tasker->export description Thanks in advance

Thanks João, that version solved the problem for me too!

Unfortunately, after the installation of that version, it seems that clipboard monitoring does not work anymore.. events triggered by changes in %CLIP variable work only if I disable and then re-enable Tasker

Shall I roll back to the previous version or there is another solution...?

Thanks a lot! (...for all your great work on Tasker too!)

Hmm, that's not a good sign! I didn't have any other reports that clipboard monitoring was broken on the beta! Which phone do you use?

I have the same problem. Android 8.0 Galaxy S7 Newest version of tasker. Im unrooted and if I click ok to the "grant system alert window" it just goes away and doesn't take me to settings.
