Firstly - thank you to Pent for inventing, developing, nurturing, and carrying Tasker this far, it is extremely powerful, popular, and useful.
And a big thanks to everyone in the Tasker community who have come along to help bolster its success over the years, including all of the plugin developers!
Finally a big thanks to Joao Dias for his commitment to developing for the Tasker platform and I couldn't think of a better man for the job.
I raise my glass to the future!!

Thank you Pent for your commitment over those years, and I've appreciate your hard work along it since I've bought Tasker on 2013.
Congratulations Joao, I have many of your autoapps and use them regularly. I'm excited to see what you can add to Tasker.
You will be sorely missed, and I wish you all the best.
After hanging on a bit too long, I finally decided I was not in good
enough shape to maintain Tasker anymore.
I find it very
stressful to let people down like that.
I'm therefore very (very) happy to announce that over the coming months
João Dias will be taking over Tasker.
a big, big thank
you to everyone who has been involved over the last 8 years,
Hi folks,
great news for you this evening!
After hanging on a bit too long, I finally decided I was not in good
enough shape to maintain Tasker anymore. The last couple of years, updates
have been too seldom, nagging bugs not fixed, new OS features integrated
too slowly or not at all. As a conscientious person, I find it very
stressful to let people down like that.
I'm therefore very (very) happy to announce that over the coming months
João Dias will be taking over Tasker. João will introduce himself below.
Transfer of the app to its new Play Store account is already achieved,
Website, development and support will follow over the coming days.
Please bear with us if there are glitches due to the transfer.
I will still be maintaining App Factory for a period, but the plan is
that eventually João takes over that too. Most of the work to create
a child app is in any case performed by Tasker.
I hope that João can put the same energy into Tasker as I was able
to in the early days. I'm sure he has a lot of plans he will reveal
to you in time.
You may still see me around a bit during the transfer period as I
try to help João absorb this complicated app. If not: a big, big thank
you to everyone who has been involved over the last 8 years,
João - how soon can you get Tasker to handle auto variables natively? :)
I have been using lots of AutoApps and especially Join. Join has come so far and improved a lot. I get to link all my Android and Windows devices. Thank you for the hard work.
Looking forward for the improvement of Tasker and AutoApps.
I can't think of a better choice for a transfer of ownership of an app like Tasker, which is in my opinion a pillar of Android for power-user.
I'm really happy with Join amd I'm eager to see how Tasker will evolve under your wing.
Yay! So this means you are going to intergrate the six billion oddly daisy-chained  Auto* plugins into Tasker as native functionality, right? About time! Losing track of which ad, Group or 'tester account' I need to watch/signup and tired of the 'Au..' section constituting 1/2 my entire App drawer. Naturally I assume our Pro subscriptions will expire every 30 days from now on but that was a given ;)
I would love to use your product. will there be a way to register autoinput without an internet connection?

Best wishes. We all wish you a healthy future.
Thanks for all that you have done to make Tasker such a remarkable app. All fussing about the UI aside, it is truly amazing and has made Android so much better.
Your baby is in good hands.
@Joao,
Please remember that other devs are creating Tasker plugins. They need the space and assistance to get started and to maintain their apps.
You may want to consider hiring one or more of them to work on Tasker together with you.
Thanks again Pent,
Jim Becker
Just wanted to give Pent my best wishes on whatever he chooses to do even if it’s just taking a rest. No one deserves it more.
My congratulations to João. I know you’ll do a great
job.
And to the rest of you, I think we need to consider what a daunting task João has accepted to take on and give him time to adjust to his new role as the guardian of the app we all so dearly love.

I have been using Tasker since 2013, and since then, it has become one of my main entertainments. Because of this, I feel obliged to write a thank you message.
I think you are a bit wrong to think that at some point you have been able to disappoint your customers.
Surely, all the people who have bought Tasker, we agree that it has been one of the most profitable purchases of our lives ... 3 euros for endless hours of entertaining and functionalities for our phones ...
Nobody is going to reproach him, that some specific errors have appeared or that some updates have taken longer than we would have liked.
If we subtract to Tasker 50% of its possibilities, it would continue being the best application for telephones.
Feel proud of what you have done, and do not forget that 99% of your customers, we will always be grateful.
I hope everything goes well in life, greetings.
Thanks for your wonderful app. Good luck and hopefully you can solve your problems.
@joao
I hope you will join your plugins in the app. Pent chose the best for his "creature".
Hello everyone. :)This is João Dias and I'm the developer of the AutoApps and Join. Maybe you've heard of them if you've been using Tasker for a while. It is with GREAT pleasure that I can announce that I'm going to be taking over Tasker! This means that I'm going to be developing it from now on!First of all this is a huge honor for me. Tasker was the app that made me want to buy an Android phone in the first place. It was the first app I bought on Google Play. When I first heard about it, it made my head spin with the possibilities it allowed. I still remember reading the Usage Examples on the Tasker website and literally spending days imagining what I would do with it once I got my hands on an Android device. It was so far beyond what was possible on my then "Smart" Nokia device that my little programming brain couldn't stop thinking about it.And now I'm humbled to be in charge of it! I hope I can continue evolving it and keep it always fresh and exciting for you! I have a few plans for it already but please don't expect anything major soon. Give me a few weeks/months (with Pent's help) to get accustomed to Tasker's code. I know I'm going to be terrified to break anything in the app in the first few releases :PÂI've been a part of Tasker for some time now, with all my AutoApps, so I know it pretty well from the outside. Of course it's going to be a different story when I get to look at it from the inside, but I'm confident all will fall in place and I'll be able to put out some great new features in the future :)I hope you can join me on this new adventure and never forget to Automate Your Life!Let us know what you think! :) Any comments are welcome!João
The first thing is something that you know perfectly, and that is that, Pent has set the bar very high and we are going to be very demanding with you.
Considering the quality of its applications, and the years it has been linked to Tasker, I think that most users agree that you are probably the best substitute you can have, but to me it particularly creates some uncertainty for me. that a person who has so many Tasker plugins, take charge of its development.
Do not get me wrong, a few hours after buying Tasker, I bought AotoVoice, AutoRemote and some other accessories, and I am in favor of a job well done.
But we are many users of Tasker, which we like to create our own applications, and depend on plugins is a problem ...
Based on this, I would like you to clarify what your policy will be in the future development of Tasker. Will you implement Tasker functionalities as Pent has been doing all these years, or will the implements depend on future plugins?
I do not know if it would be possible to do it or not, or if you consider that this idea is crazy, but it would be perfect if you could implement all your plugins in Tasker. A kind of AutoTools, worse integrated into Tasker.
Of course, considering that they are applications that you have created before taking over Tasker, it would be fair for that implement to entail an additional cost. I hope you do not attack me much after this comment.
"And I am in favor of a job well done, it must be paid"
>I do not know if it would be possible to do it or not, or if you consider that this idea is crazy, but it would be perfect if you could implement all your plugins in Tasker. A kind of AutoTools, worse >ntegrated into Tasker.
João, I think Raol is saying this
because apps created with App Factory currently require the user to
install one or more
Auto plugins after install of the child app (if they are needed)
