You don't need anything external to do this.

Create a Tasker task with action Display / Car Mode. Create a Task Cut
on your homescreen linking to it.

Thanks for your swift response but this doesn't Activate the inbuilt "Driving Mode" program in the S3.. It activates some Car Mode which does nothing on my phone.. Which is why I was using the Driving Mode Widget app which launches the S3's Driving Mode program which reads out SMS Incoming caller and Time on the lock screen plus a few more..

Ah, you can understand my error I hope however :-)

Looking at the screenshot, you just need to do a Misc / Send Intent
action configured as specified.

Works like a charm!

The settings posted earlier are nearly corrected.
In the widget itself is sais the following:

To use intent in 3rd party apss like Llama, use Method:
Broadcast, Package: com.arnab.drivingmode, Class: com.arnab.drivingmode.DWidget, Action: drv_on or drv_off.

So it should work using the following settings:

(no quotes, case sensitive)
Action: "_drv_on"
Cat: none
Mime Type: leave blank
Data: leave blank
Extra: leave blank
Extra: leave blank
Package: "com.arnab.drivingmode"
Class: "com.arnab.drivingmode.DWidget"
Target: Broadcast Receiver

Ok i must be doing something wrong.  I installed the widget app, created a Send Intent with all the settings below, and still it wont turn driving mode on.

Driving Mode off is the same except the Action is "_drv_off"

How did you set up the action in Send Intent to get this to work? Trying to do the same thing.

Check the audio steam you're using... For a while mine defaulted to the media stream,  but as there was no media playing, the notification was not read... ;-)

Hi, I was just setting up the same thing and got the driving mode to toggle, at least according to the icon on the notifications screen, but the driving mode doesn't actually seem to be reading the incoming notifications as it should.

Has anyone else who performed these steps encountered this?  Where the light is on but it doesn't seem to be doing anything?

Thanks,
-Heath

I don't understand.  Audio stream?
I typically have Slacker Radio playing while I drive.  I'm sure that I was getting notifications via Driving Mode function before I automated the process with Tasker...

How do I check it?

Thanks,
-Heath

Is there a way to check to see if the intent has been activated or not?  I want to toggle the icon of my shortcut based on whether Driving Mode is running or not, as that task kicks of plenty of other things.  What other intents are available for driving mode, and what is the samsung app\intent I could use there?

Thanks,
Larry

Does anybody know how to read/write DrivingMode states programmatically from my Android application (almost the same as mentioned Widget)? I need this functionality in my project, but I could not use 3rd party apps here...

Hello I just downloaded the application yesterday and have thoroughly researched on the below subject before deciding to ask a question to you (Pent) myself.. First of all thank you so very much for coming up with this EPIC app i.e Tasker.. Secondly as you may hav already gathered I am quite the newbie and even though I am quite quick to pick up things I haven't yet managed to pick this one up..

So I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 I have installed Tasker and Driving Mode Widget Link:  http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1559801 hirak99 the author of that app has made a widget to activate and deactivate the "Driving Mode" setting via 1 click with a widget... He also claims as per below (2nd Paragraph)

So I have created a Car mode Profile in my Tasker and want to add 2 more tasks to it.. i.e 1. Turning on "Driving Mode" and 2. Turning off "Driving Mode" as my exit task.. As you can tell I am very eager for this to work as it would complete my Profile Task completely.. I am assume it would be quite a tedious process to set up these two tasks and that it is not fair on me to ask you to do so.. But I would be very appreciative if you did manage to make them for me to finish my set.. Also if you wouldn't find the time to do so i would at least hope that you point me in the right direction as to how I should go about setting up these tasks.. As I have zero knowldege on these Intent settings.. Thanks in advance..
