Can a task modify one of the animation settings under developer options?

There's a bug in Android 4.3 that resets the "Transition animation scale" Developer Option to 1x whenever the Camera app is accessed.

I would like to create a task that runs the Camera app, and on exit changes the Transition Animation Scale setting back to "off", which is my desired setting.

Is this possible?

Thanks.

Only if you have root, in which case you can use the Dpad action in the Input category to move around the settings screen and select UI
items.

Pent - thanks for the response.

Understand.

Perhaps an enhancement request as root isn't needed to access or modify that option.

How is it done without root ?

Developer options can be accessed via the Settings menus.  They aren't displayed by default, but here's how to enable them:

Enabling is a one time thing, so from then on they show up under Settings.

There's also an app called "Developer Options" that goes directly to that Settings page.  From there just scroll down to the animation settings, and make the change.  No root required.

But that requires user interaction. There isn't a way to change it in the background. So the only solution seems to be stimulating user interaction (as Pent suggested) which requires root.

Then you should be able to use the Load App action to launch "Developer Options" to get to the page.

Yes, that could be done, but I was hoping changing the setting could be automated.  I don't necessarily want a settings page to open up every time I exit the camera app.  I can just run the Developer Options app when it's convenient and the animation setting bothers me, but it's PIA to have to do that frequently.

So back to hoping for an enhancement that allows automating any of the Settings options.

I don't know if it's a problem on other devices.  I have a Galaxy S4 on T-Mobile, and have seen it reported by others running 4.3 on the S4 with other carriers.

you probably can use autoinput to simulate user tapping the menus and elements to change them,  I used it to enable / disable GPS and hotspot it works pretty well.
