I have a task that kills Pandora (using root since it didn't work without it), but Pandora's ongoing notification remains after Pandora is killed. Anyway to remove Pandora's notification without removing any other notifications in the bar? I also have the same issue with my task that kills SiriusXM.

Device: Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Model: Toro
Android Version: 4.0.3
ROM: AOKP Build 24

If you know Pandora is playing (not paused) you can use Media Control / Toggle Pause to pause the music.  This causes the notification to clear.  Then kill Pandora.

I'll give that a try. Is there a way to determine if Pandora is on screen?

Not without another profile.  But that still won't help if Pandora is playing in the background.

Profile: Pandora
Context: Application Pandora
Enter Task:
Variable Set %PANDORA 1
Exit Task:
Variable Clear %PANDORA

In your task, include:

If %PANDORA Is Set
Toggle Pause
Go Home
Kill App Pandora
End If

Go Home puts Pandora in the background, which causes the Pandora profile to exit - clearing the %PANDORA variable, and improves Tasker's ability to kill the app.

I don't see the reason for using Toggle Pause. If you're not sure that it's playing, that might cause it to start playing.

Why not just use
Media/Media Control/Pause (Simulate Media Button)

If you really want to kill it after pausing it, you could
Go Home
Kill App Pandora

That's true, which is why I prefaced the suggestion with "if you know Pandora is playing".  I did try Media Control / Stop, and it had no effect.  But for some reason I didn't try Media Control / Pause.  If that works, it's a much better choice.

Yeah, pause works. Stop doesn't.
