Hi,

Can someone clarify what the Timeout setting does under Task > Action > Action Edit

I am using Tasker to control my Philips Hue lights using the Hue Pro plugin. I am find a lot of times my lights don't turn off/on even though the Profile conditions are met. I see in the logs that Tasker triggered the Task and also when I manually run the Tasks I have to run them multiple times in some cases. This issue is intermittent.

I couldn't find anything documented about what this setting does but I am assuming it allows more time for the action to complete? Currently all my Action have a "None" set for timeout.

If that doesn't work I will try another plugin e.g. AutoHue to see if that corrects the problem.

Appreciate any advice!

If you press the Help button in the action edit screen it should give you more info.

This is what it says for Timeout:

Timeout specifies how long Tasker should wait for the plugin to finish. None indicates that Tasker will proceed immediately to the next action in the task.

Perfect - thanks! That appears to have solved my issue too.

For some reason the Help menu points me to this page covering Action Edit which doesn't cover the Timeout setting.
