VR Sync Oculus Go - Video Playback Multiple Devices

Is it possible to trigger synchronized playback on multiple oculus go of either local video files or a youtube playlist using tasker?

Yes, I think, for local files :)

  • From one device send a Join message to another device with %TIMEMS + 5000 for example
  • On both device in the task wait until that time
  • Open the video on both devices at that time and they should start playing in synchrony.
I guess it could also work with YouTube Videos if you pre-open the video, pause it, then unpause it at the right time  :)

Thanks - when I try to open Join on oculus go I get "Join won't run without Google Play services"

Was going to try autoremote and got from oculus go I got "Can't connect. Please try again later: java.io.IOException:
MISSING_INSTANCEID_SERVICE

Oh I see. Yes, unfortunately Join does need that to receive push messages.

Maybe use AutoRemote which can receive pushes directly via local network?
