I have a bluetooth headset, and I forget to turn it off all the time, draning its battery. However, it does turn itself off after a few minutes when its not connected to anything. So I'm wondering if I could make tasker disconnect the headset when its not in use.
Ofcourse, it would have to not connect again too. Is that possible?

You could just turn off your Bluetooth on your phone but I suspect it will try to reconnect if you turn it back on.

The plugins Secure Settings and Bluetooth Autoconnect each have actions to disconnect from specific devices.

What determines that the headset is not in use? If you are wearing it while just waiting on a phone call it wouldn't really be in use but you wouldn't want it turned off either.

It's a pair of headphones that I use for music, so I don't generally use them for calling. Though I guess that's my next question. How can I detect that the phone isn't sending any sound?

It seems using secure settings to disconnect the headset worked perfectly and it didn't reconnect (although it didn't turn itself off as I expected but I'll look into that).
