Some newer devices like the Nexus Player and other android TV boxes support HDMI-CEC such that you can control your android TV with your TV remote or (I think) control your tv with your Android box. I want to be able to send volume up/down to my tv from Tasker through HDMI-CEC. Is this possible? Planned as a future enhancement?
Thanks for your help.

Whenever I cast my screen to the nexus player when the TV is off, the nexus player will turn on the TV automatically. If I could use tasker to perform hdmi-cec commands then I could fully control my TV and nexus player with Bluetooth and i can get rid of the dinosaur technology that is infrared.

I can see an API for when Android is running on a TV and receive HDMI-CIC input, but not for sending stuff out of an HDMI-CIC port to control a TV.

To be honest I know nothing about this stuff however :-)

Thanks for looking into it!  Well, if they ever update the API, I think it would be a great addition.
Cheers,
Jonathan
