MDNS/Local Service Discovery in Tasker?

I am looking for a method to accomplish local service discovery (via MDNS/Bonjour) via Tasker. It could be an app, javascript, or java (although it seems this requires callback listeners so doubt it can be done in Tasker's java). But I need more than just the IP of the service provider. I need all of the data that is found in the response record as what I seek contains IoT device status information that I must get and decode (which I can now do in Tasker).
