Un-mute notifications?

I have Tasker set to launch Kaoler clock if my phone is plugged in, at home, and between 10pm and 7am.

I have Kaoler clock set to use a night mode profile between 10pm and 7am.  The night mode profile disables notifications.
The problem is that if I unplug my phone after 7am (when Kaloer clock has gone into day mode), notifications don't get re-enabled (I've notified the developer, but no response so far.)  In the audio manager, it shows that notification volume is all the way up, but the icon for the notification slider has a slash through it, and I can't find any way to un-mute notifications short of a reboot.

In Tasker, there is an action to change the notification volume, but I can't find anything to mute/unmute notifications.

Is there a way to do this that I'm missing?

I'm guessing that this "muted notifications" feature is part of Kaoler clock's night mode profile?  I don't think it's a standard feature of Android OS.  It sounds like the only choice you have is to pester the Kaoler clock app to implement unmuting muted notifications when it's in day mode.

How I would work around this whole thing is to no longer use the Kaoler night mode feature, and use Tasker do something similar.

Well, the muted notification MUST be an Android feature, because when notifications are muted, the notification icon in Audio Manager has a slash through it.

Unfortunately I haven't found anything short of a reboot that lets me un-mute it, though.

And I don't see anything in Tasker that will let me mute notifications without muting anything else.

Ok, so when your phone is in the notifications muted state (slash through notif icon in Audio Manager), manually go through your phone's sound setting menu and try looking for a silent mode or vibrate mode that you can toggle.  Or look for any volume sliders that you can try changing around.

See if any of those work.  This will at least give you back manual control of getting out of that muted notification state.

I think the problem is that Android has some pretty strange linked behaviors, such as putting the phone in "silent mode" sets the slash through the icon (I think) and sets some volume levels to 0, but leaves some volume levels alone.  And it's not always obvious how to move from one state to another, as you're seeing in your case.

I would try to use Tasker to set the phone in silent mode and set the notification vol to 0.  To unmute notifications, you would use Tasker to take the phone out of silent mode (normal mode?) and set the notification vol to whatever.
