I think that's how all "shortcuts" work, such as for Google Maps, if I add a set place and travel method to home screen as a button (I have a folder bubble of location route shortcuts).
If you were not frequently updating the task and it were simple enough, consider putting it into its own "Project" tab in Tasker, assigning an Icon, and exporting the Project as an App.
I've experimented with that in the past, and it did work for me to create the "app" with the launcher icon linked to a task with a whole icon assigned to the Project tab in Tasker before exporting.
It was a larger project than just a task, with UI, scenes, many variables. It worked.
