how to open a video from tasker

i want to know how to open a video from tasker.i want to open my 09 seconds video before my screen off.is there any way i can do..please help me

You can try the Open File action first, make sure you select the video mime type.

I didn't get that actually.
What I'm trying to do is
When I set a task to power off and set it for 9 minutes display off. so what I want it before display gets off I wana play my video clip which I have stored in movies. Please be kind enough to tell me how to do this step by step please

You can't do anything before display goes off, Tasker only gets the signal from Android once the display
is actually off. You can use Display Off event for that. The Open File action was for playing the video.

Ok pent. So how can I do the open file action ?? Can you please give me the steps to do open action file and do I need to set any variable value ?????
Please be kind to help me pent. Bcz I wana do my project and I don't have much knowledge about anaroid

Select the open file action. Press the first magnifying glass and select the file. Press the second magnifying
glass and select mime type video/*.

thanks pent it works. and i wana know how to run tasker video player. in the description it says about making a text file but i dont understand.

my video file name is : ready to go
and it saved in : downloads
and its format is : mp4

do you know how to create that text file???

please help me with this please pent

I don't know what you mean, which description ?

To make a text file you can use the Write File action.

Tasker doesn't have a builtin video player. Best you can do is make scene with a WebView
and specify the URL of the video.
