Hey there,

I think this is a common problem, but as I didn't find a solution, I thougt I'd just ask in case anyone has an idea.
When I use my phone (android 5.1.1) to listen to music I usually don't want anyone around to be annoyed by my notification sounds which is why I have a profile running to get the phone in silent mode when headphones are plugged in. But I still would want to hear my ringtone and my notifications through the headphones. Is there a good way to realise this with tasker? I'm a bit clueless right know and would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

Try Bluetooth volume in your action tasks

Set up another profile with the context Notification and Headphones Connected.

For the Entry task you can use Beep, Play Ringtone, Media Play Music File or a Say action and set the stream to media.

Sound should come over the headphones and not the speaker.

Somehow I can't make it work with a profile for any incoming notifications or notifications from specified apps. I set up two profiles for incoming calls and texts (event -> phone) which work, but it won't react to any other notifications (event -> UI). It would be nice to have a sound for other notifications aswell, but still this is already way better than before. Thanks!

You might try the AutoNotification plugin.  It seems to catch more notifications and has greater flexibility.

I have separate tasks for "Media Player" (when I don't want notifications to disturb the music) and "Headphones".  That covers it for me since I mostly use bluetooth devices and I can choose by device which tasks to run in the profile. But it sounds like you might be using aux cables for each situation in which case the one idea I have is to pop a notification when the headphone jack is plugged in. You could use actions in the notification to choose between notification sounds yes or no.
