Hello i pretty new to Tasker, but my first project was to make profile so when i receive a sms it sends it to my email.
that works with no problems at all, but when i try to make it the other way, i can't get it to work.
To specify what doesnt work, i am trying to do so when i send a mail, it sends it to the mobile number written in the subject field.

it should be made so when i answer in the mail, it sends the mail to my phone the phone can then se the mail and it sends an sms to the person who send an sms to me.

Can anyone help me with this project?
If you wanna see the first bit for receiving an sms and send it to my email, then i can put it in here for u.

Tasker works most easily with the k9 mail app. If you download that, you'll have a Tasker event for email received and variables for email sender, subject, etc. Look in the 3rd Party category in Tasker.

Email From / Cc / Subject / Date / Time (dynamic)
%EFROM / %ECC / %ESUBJ / %EDATE / %ETIME
The From, Cc, Subject, Received Date and Received Time of the last email received by the K9 email agent.

as you can see i can only get the subject from this, and i cant figure out have to get the main text from the mail instead of just the subject

I've made a profile like that using SL4A. Search for a script to send email with tasker and SL4A. Use that and send your SMS to your email account.

Stefano Bergamini:
I already made the first part with sending SMS to my email account.
I need it so i can send a mail from my computer and it sends an SMS from my mobile.

Hi

Depending upon your client for sending mail (OUTLOOK / WEB ), you need a Rule / Add-on at your client or Server to convert the email into sms.

Although with K9, email Body isn’t getting as a Variable, if you are rooted, have SQLITE, running shell command querying the Mail DB,  you can get latest email body. (I hope so)

EventGhost is a program for Windows that brings similar functionality to Windows that Tasker brings to Android. You can look into that.

I know you can "Email" sms messages to a phone by finding the carrier email address.

for example for Sprint the email is @messaging.sprintpcs.com so you just put in the phone number and email

so if my phone number is 333-444-5555 the email address i send to would be 33344...@messaging.sprintpcs.com

And the message will be sent as an SMS to that number.

now you'll have to look into EventGhost to be able to do that automatically or just remember to add that email address to the senders list whenever you send an email from the computer.

Hey again, after 2 hours in the queue with my carrier, they told me that it wasnt them i should talk with but the branding of my phone "Sony". Does anyone know if this is correct? it doesn't make sense at all to me

Most likely that is incorrect. Unless, for some reason, your carrier decided to maintain individual servers and domains for each manufacturer model supplied to consumers. Customer service these days is always mediocre at best.

I call my carrier frequently, only to hear them say, "that's not possible with your device, you can't do that, that will never work, they're not compatible, etc" and they're ALWAYS wrong.

Customer service reps are just lazy, unwilling to educate themselves about technology, or take ownership of the position the company placed them in to promote and support products, services, and features. Sorry if anyone here providing guidance or support is a customer service rep... just my experience though.

But i will find a solution in some way.

Your carrier guy must have thought about you sending email from your device.

As I understand,  you are sending reply not from your device but from your PC or  Laptop.

If that is the case, I can then suggest a solution.

Let me know.

Oliver, I think it's a matter of asking your provider for the name of their "sms gateway", so that people with only email access can send a SMS to a 3.dk subscriber.

This wiki page may help you explain to the 3.dk support rep what you're looking for:

No European telco I've seen has had a public email to SMS
gateway. It's common in the US where people pay for incoming SMS
messages but not so much where incoming SMSs are free and people only
pay on outgoing.

I use textmagic.com to do email to sms to my phone.

The wikipage http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SMS_gateways does show some European and Asian carriers.  But it does look like some set restrictions on usage, so that people cannot get away with not paying for sending sms messages.

I've never done this myself, but you could probably try doing something with IFTTT or zapier. It would basically go like this: 1) Send email to the IFTTT email channel, triggering them to send you an SMS. 2) Parse the SMS received from them using Tasker and send a new message with that data.

So far I see two potential problems with this. Firstly, their site is having some sort of hiccup and so I'm not able to test this out at the moment, but I don't see why something like this wouldn't work. Secondly, and perhaps critically, it seems their SMS channel might not work for some non-US carriers. I suppose it could work, though :).
