My Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 insists on grouping notifications from the same app, so only the most recent one appears when swiping through notifications. To see other notifications in the group. it is necessary to press a small circle at the bottom of the display. Unfortunately, this press is often misinterpreted as a swipe up, removing the entire group of notifications.

Grouping cannot be turned off on the watch, but there is obviously some way that the app creating the notification can prevent it. I currently have eight notifications from the New York Times app, and the watch displays them all separately. What do I need to do in Tasker to prevent its notifications from being grouped? I have tried assigning them to different categories, but that has not worked.

I previously used AutoWear to generate one of the notifications I want; the watch saw that as different from Tasker notifications and did not group them. However, since the most recent update of AutoWear it has been creating rogue notifications, so I have now uninstalled it. Now I need to find another way to prevent grouping of Tasker notifications.

Any hints will be appreciated!

Are you using Tasker or AutoNotification to produce your notifications?

There is actually two notification attributes to be concerned with. "Category" is what is used to effect such things as sound and priority.  "Grouping" is used to control which "group" the notification is in. If you leave Grouping blank, they all will end up in the same category.

I use autonotification, which has a place for specifying the group. I do not know if there is a way to "group" Tasker generated notifications.

I meant to say " If you leave Grouping blank, they all will end up in the same group".

Thanks! AutoNotification is exactly what I needed.
