Just moved to LG G3. Previously I could set Tasker so that screen timeout was disabled. Sane setting now in Tasker, extending the timeout time does not work with G3. Extending time out in Tasker beyond 15 minutes sets timeout on device to 30 seconds. I've manually set the device to not turn off the screen in the device settings and the use the %DTOUT variable to display the setting, this was 2 million plus seconds. I tried using that value and still no go, ends up with 30 second timeout once again. I'm not rooted. Anyone have suggestions on how to disable the screen timeout on LG G3 using Tasker?

I don't seem to have an issue on my LG G2. Are you going into the android settings and checking what it's set to there? If so, that's the problem. From the user guide:

Note: if you go to Android settings after running this action, Android will change the value to one it 'knows about' e.g. if you have set it to 9 minutes, Android Settings may change it to 10 minutes.
Some have reported the same thing occuring after a reboot.

You haven't understood the issue.  Android settings "knows about" how to keep the screen from turning off, there's an option in the settings.  As I also mentioned in the original post I checked what the value is when set to "keep screen turned on" by using the %DTOUT variable.  I've set the time to this exact value and still doesn't work.

OK, how are you determining that the timeout is still 30 seconds when you set it to something else?

Have you tried setting all the sliders to max instead of inputting a specific numerical value?

Did you ever resolve this problem?

It seems that setting any Display Timeout value higher than 1800 seconds (30 minutes) gets forced to 30 seconds by Android 5.x.

I tried retrieving the value set by the phone when you manually go into the phone settings and put the timeout at "never...".  The value returned in Tasker %DTOUT is 2147483.  But setting that value in Tasker screen timeout still gets the default 30 seconds set by Android.  @$@#$ing Android/Verizon programmers.  Fascists.

I don't think this can be an Android 5+ problem. The app "Trigger" which is similar to Tasker can do this fine. It's a shame because there's a lot of things that Trigger can't do but for me, screen timeout is a really fundamental thing that Tasker can't do.
