I am very new to Tasker so I'm sorry if this has been covered previously.
I did do a search but couldn't find anything.
Is there any way of creating a task that opens the app drawer?
I've used Tasker to replace all icons on my home screen but I'm stuck with the standard app drawer icon.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have that plugin but I can't get it to actually open the app drawer, actually show me all my apps.

What launcher are you using. I'm using Holo launcher. In auto shortcut dialogue, select holo launcher, , then brings ups' list of holo related shortcuts, including app drawer

Here another thought which is probably overkill....there are a variety of stand alone app drawer apps in the market....may give some functionality missing from the one that comes with your launcher. With those, you would just use load app

I was hoping to avoid using a launcher. It may be blinkered but I don't see the point in them.

You mean you want to use Stock Launcher? As far as im aware its not possible to not use a launcher.

What launcher are you using? Can you add a shortcut (on your home screen) that will open the app drawer (most 3rd party launchers provide this option)? If so, it is possible.

Otherwise, and if you're rooted, you can simulate it by going to the home screen and tapping on the app drawer icon. See this.

If you can find the right activity to launch, you should be able to do it with an intent. With the secure settings plugin you can probably find it.
