I've been trying to enable backups to Google Drive, yet am encountering an error:
  • From Menu -> Preferences I enable "Google Drive Backup".
  • Get a "Choose an account" dialog, where I select my Google account.
  • Get a white box appear on the screen with the spinning colour changing 'busy' icon at the top.
  • It stays on this screen until I click outside the white box, at which point at the bottom of the screen a warning triangle with "Error Result not OK" appears.
Looking at the Tasker log I see the following:

Is this a Tasker issue, or a problem with some other setting on my phone/Google?  I have WhatsApp backing up to Google Drive without problems.

Any suggestions of things to try to help resolve this?

Thanks,
Rob

perhaps your login credentials are not correct? It works fine on my device. What tasker version?(help->about)
are all your permissions given?
Also, note that the backup occurs only when charging is on and on a unmetered network.

WhatsApp backs up to Google Drive correctly, as does the phone backup from the Google Services, so that'd surely indicate the credentials are correct?

I'm on the latest version (5.7.2)

As far as I can see, yes, Tasker has everything it requests.  It's definitely not prompting me for any extra permissions.

I was aware of that, and was trying this on unmetered WiFi whilst charging, but also surely it wouldn't just hang indefinitely with a white box if this weren't the case?!

Thanks,
Rob

yeah that about exhausts my troubleshooting on this subject.....

I meant that the Tasker holds the correct credentialing.....re-try that part.

from what you stated in the OP post, the procedure looks just fine.

It might be time to use Report Issue to Developer, found in Tasker's main menu.
