Hello everyone,
After switching from stock Samsung ROM to cyanogenmod 10.2 on my Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) I thought tasker would now let me use actions like toggle GPS. But it won't. There was no question to grant supersuer rights at all.
So I searched for a profile that needed root and found this http://tasker.wikidot.com/notrem
I installed it and launched a task that needed root and as wished the superuser popup showed up and now tasker has superuser rights according to Superuser.

The thing is: GPS still can't be added to a task. :-/

What did I do wrong? I even restartet the device.
I had a backup restored after flashing the device, but I also tried deleting all data via tasker. Still no effect.

You need to use the Secure Settings plugin.

I'm using the Security Setting plugin with Tasker and it's wok perfect. Try to download via Google Play.

Tasker for GPS works on older phones because Google allowed it.  They changed it for their newer phones, so now you have to use a plugin like SS to control GPS.  There are several things that Tasker has "lost" control over it because of the changes.

Well that's pretty sad. I din't want to use another app to do something Tasker should be able to :-(
It's weird though, that it cant't although root access is granted, if SS does the same thing without any problem.

Thanks anyways

Ooooh, okay, I missused Secure Setting the first time. I used it as a plugin and tried to activate GPS directly in there, externally via Tasker. Now I understand, that I can do that in Tasker itself, once SS is installed. The native GPS function works again. Which solves the problem, that SS wouldn't restore the previous GPS state, when the profile conditions wouldn't fit anymore.

Now I'm happy again and can kick Google's location aceess' ass :D
My battery will thank me :)

Okay, this is all weird. The Tasker GPS action is gone again, but SS works as it should, by resetting the GPS state after the profile is disabled.

Anyway it all works as it should, somehow.

That's what you're supposed to do.

There's no cross-dependency that I'm aware of.

But we're happy with anything that works :-)

Disabling GPS worked for me on my S4 with SS.  Not, it doesn't on my Note 4.  Any ideas?
I can enable with SS, but not disable...
